Many people experience grief and loneliness at this time of the year. The festive sounds of carols and Christmas music, the themes of happy families, joyous gift giving and fun times for all fill our ears and bombard our senses, making grief seem unreal. But it is real, and in acknowledging our grief and pain in the presence of God, hope may be found.
A service of remembering loved ones who are no longer with us (sometimes called a Blue Christmas service).
A very moving service was held on 11 December for those who find Christmas difficult for any reason. Tears were shed, smiles were had, conversations engaged.
If Christmas is still a painful experience why not have a chat with the Reverend Margaret Middleton, minister-in-association at Tuggeranong Uniting, or the Reverend Elizabeth Raine.
