Exploring the New Testament

The course on Exploring the New Testament will be offered in online mode (via ZOOM) during the period of September to early December.

This course is one of the Living Our Faith units that needs to be completed by people seeking accreditation as a Lay Preacher. However, the course is open to anyone to participate.

The course will be taught by Elizabeth Raine and John Squires. Elizabeth and John, as you know, have taught biblical studies for many years, and bring that experience into this educational offering. Join Elizabeth and John as you explore the story of Jesus, the relationship of the Gospels, the letters of Paul and other apostles, and the exotic world of Revelation—and learn skills in reading, interpreting, and speaking about these central biblical texts.

The course is being offered each Thursday from 3 September to 3 December. Sessions are 90 minutes in length. You can enrol in the Thursday morning session (10am—11:30am) or the Thursday evening session (7pm—8:30pm). It is also possible to join in the alternate session on any given week, if you can’t make the one you normally attend.

These sessions will happen during the regular TUC Bible Study times. We look forward to having people from other Congregations join in for these sessions.

The cost is $40—this gets you a useful resource book with guidelines for interpreting all the New Testament books. If you are looking to be accredited as a Lay Preacher, there are assignments to be completed, and the cost is $200. Scholarship assistance is available for those seeking to be accredited.

You will need to register to participate.
