The blind can see

The Reverend Amanda Hay takes us on a different path through the story of Jesus’ encounter with a blind beggar, Bartimaeus, in Mark 10:46-52. Bartimaeus is often held up as an example of ‘true faith’, with the blind man being able to ‘see’. His reward is being ‘healed’ from his blindness by Jesus but is that the point of the story? How has that lesson skewed the way the church looks at diversity and how can we understand this story in a deeper way?
